The BIM & ROBO EXPO 2024 on 29. and August 30 in Aachen combines the topics of digitalization, robotics and sustainability in the construction industry. In response to the burning issues in the construction industry and transport infrastructure, the congress aims to present substantial solutions in the context of digitalization and to mobilize innovative forces through networking. The agenda includes the opportunities of BIM, automation, artificial intelligence and digitalization in circular construction, and we welcome top-class international and national decision-makers from business, politics and science as well as start-ups as speakers. The impulses and panel discussions come from the USA, Asia and Europe. We are expecting a total of around 200 high-ranking participants. The congress will be held in German and English, with simultaneous translation.

As Director of the Institute of Construction Management, Digital Construction and Robotics in Civil Engineering, Univ. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Katharina Klemt-Albert combines innovation with sustainability in her research topics.
She stands for sustainable digitalization and, through her work at RWTH Aachen University, promotes the use of innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence and robotics to shape the construction of the future.
“Efficient and sustainable, innovative and fast: digitalization is taking the planning and construction, operation and maintenance of structures to the next evolution level. Many brilliant minds from the scientific community and industry are contributing valuable ideas and driving developments forward. The Federal Government supports and helps to advance these developments. For example, we are focusing on Building Information Modelling for planning, building and operating our transport infrastructure, trialling digital twins and developing the right framework to make sure that the enormous opportunities provided by artificial intelligence can be harnessed. What is certain is that digital is better and for this reason, I am happy to serve as patron for the 2024 BIM Robo Expo.”
The Expo covers the entire construction value chain – from initial planning and the construction phase to the sustainable operation and management of buildings, urban areas and landscapes.
The aim is to inform participants about the latest developments in robotics and digitalization in construction and to promote the exchange of knowledge and experience in order to improve efficiency, quality and sustainability in construction projects.
